Finnish startup DeskMe partners with TEDxInnovationU to power a fully interactive digital twin of the event venue — extending the exhibitor experience beyond the walls of the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center.
Helsinki, Finland / Tokyo, Japan — DeskMe, the Finnish enterprise SaaS company known for its visual office desk and room booking platform, is partnering with TEDxInnovationU to deliver an immersive digital venue experience for their Tokyo Edition 2026 event — taking place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center in the heart of Tokyo.
TEDxInnovationU is an independently organized TEDx event bringing together world-class innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs under the theme of Intergenerational Innovation — exploring what emerges when generations collaborate in a city that uniquely bridges deep tradition and cutting-edge technology. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is expected to draw in a diverse number of attendees, sponsors, and supporters for eight hours of talks, networking, and hands-on discovery.
A New Dimension for Event Exhibitors
At the heart of the partnership is DeskMe’s digital venue map — a precise visual representation of the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center that serves as a digital twin of the physical space. The platform will feature all 18 startup booths exhibiting at the event, along with potential sponsor booths, brought to life as interactive digital presences.
Each organization, that applied, will have its own digital booth within the map, enriched with company information, images related to products and operations, and a customisable action button linked to a destination of the startup’s choosing — whether that is their main website, a dedicated event landing page with a special offer for attendees, or a sign-up form to capture leads directly from the experience.

The digital venue experience is embedded directly into the TEDxInnovationU event website, giving attendees meaningful access at every stage of their journey. In the days leading up to the event, visitors can browse the full startup lineup, learn about each company, and plan exactly which booths they want to prioritise. During the event itself, the venue map acts as a real-time navigation tool — allowing attendees to orient themselves quickly and locate companies of interest without losing time on the floor. And for those who couldn’t get around to everyone they intended to meet, the digital booths remain accessible after the event, ensuring no connection is lost due to a crowded schedule.
In addition to the exhibitor map, DeskMe’s platform will also be used to clearly display the event programme on the main stage — giving organisers a clean, dynamic way to communicate the day’s schedule in the physical space.
Building on Momentum from the Nordics
While the event use case is a relatively recent expansion of DeskMe’s platform — originally built for corporate office environments — it is rapidly gaining recognition in the events industry. The company’s deployment at Nordic Business Forum 2025 in Helsinki, Finland, the largest business conference in the Nordics, served as a landmark moment that demonstrated the platform’s potential at scale and generated significant industry attention.
